There are many tourists other than government officials especially retirees to come to the islands. Tourists often come to vacation in the resorts to enjoy the pleasant weather, beautiful geography, low cost of living, delicious food and hospitable people. Some wealthy people have bought properties to have holiday homes that has given rise to a boost in the construction sector of the province. About 1 million people visit the islands annually. The territory does not have much in the way of industry or manufacturing. When not involved in tourism and the adjacent services, most of the population is involved agriculture. Most of the farming is done via small plots. Although the territory produces a lot of food such as most if not all of its own fruit, vegetables and meat, spices, beverages, and staples such as rice come from the Packilvanian mainland.

The islands each have distinct cultural traits from their native populations. The natives grew hear largely undisturbed from outside forces for hundreds of years until the 17the century CE when they were invaded by the Packilvanians. The government initially used the islands for military and strategic reasons, largely leaving the native population alone once they were conquered and subdued but the government wanted to become more financially independent and so incentivized opportunistic business people from Packilvania to migrate and start plantations. This resulted in the introduction of Packilvanian customs, fashions, artistic and architectura sensibilities and religion.

The natives typically built structures from the abundant wood and folliage. They built large canoes from the massive trees of the island that they used to catch fish and travel to neighbouring islands for trade. The art of the island is characterised by motifs of nature and mythical creatures. Stories about heroes and deities based on the rains, forests and mountains emerged and were told around campfires at night. The people carry on many of these traditions including the singing of songs and the adoption of war chants similar to those of South East Yasteria to intimidate enemies and convey cultural pride. The islands adopted some of the foods such as the spices and rice introduced by the Packilvanians and adapted them to their own dishes which include fruit chutney, coconut curry, fruit jam, fried dumplings, ackee, and saltfish.
