Akuan Development Bank
The Akuan Development Bank is a multilateral development finance institution that is focused on Akuan finance for infrastructure, education and business development. The headquarters of the ADB is located in Vakkerhavfruebukt, Vakrestrender. The Akuan Development Bank invests not only Akuan states such as Hvaloaszna, but into Akuan Districts across the Urth. The Akuan Development Bank primary made up of the "Big Three" Akuan banks.
History
It was founded by Jarl of Vakrestrender Kristoffer Bjørn and the Valkyr Akuan Bank in 1964. Then later joined by the Aikkian Royal family of Ny'thudr'zhan and the Aikkian Akuan Bank in 1965. Finally in 1967 the Musetszna royal house of LuPaasan and the Mustetine Akuan Bank joined the Akuan Development Bank. It began it operations and activities in 1970.
Membership
The big three of the Akuan Development Bank make up the bulk of shares owning the Akuan Development Bank, with Valkyr Akuan Bank being the largest shareholder and the Aikkian Akuan Bank being a close second. Other shareholders being various Akuan nations and Akuan firms.
Purpose and Mission-Statement
The Akuan Development Bank mission statement, is to "Promote Akuan businesses, protect Akuan culture(s) and Akuan finance." Effectively, meaning to create Akuan firms that fit Akuan customs of non-violence companies (such as arms industry but includes business such as butcher shops or no-replant timber operations), interest-free banking and so forth.
Non-Violence
ADB, invests in environmentally friendly, non-violent and culturally Akuan enterprises. The term non-violence, for Akuanists means more than weapon industry, but the animal husbandry, forestry and in general violence to the environment of Urth or violence by non-physical means. The broad nature of non-violence by any means has been a topic of some debate within the Akuan Development Bank, as well as criticisms from non-Akuan investment firms and banks.
Each of the Big Three having their own definitions of the term 'Non-Violence' leads to heavy internal discussions about what is and not violence. Example being both the Mustetine and Aikkian cultures are primarily pescatarian where the Valkyr are cruelty free consumers. Leading to the debate within the ADB about investing into cruelty free animal pastures, though in 1982 it became agreed upon by the three to approve of potential investments into it.
