The Thurids were a powerful theocratic dynasty originating in modern day Redmondburg. Their name comes from their god, Onik Zok Thur (Staynish: Wise Great Master), whom they worshipped as the [[wikipedia:Henotheism|henotheistic]] overlord of the universe. According to surviving historical records, the Thurids claimed to trace their lineage to Onik Zok Thur, which they used to support their position as the dominant political power in ancient Aivintis.
