The '''Zycannes''' are the highest and most extensive [[wikipedia:Mountain range|mountain range]] system that lies entirely in Aurora, across sevenfour different countries: [[Axdel]], [[StaynesKéya]], [[]], [[North Ethalrian Confederacy|The North Ethalrian Confederacy]], [[TivotStaynes]], and [[CaltharusValeria]]. The mountains were formed over tens of millions of years as the Packilvanian and Auroran tectonic plates collided. Extreme shortening caused by the event resulted in marine sedimentary rocks rising by thrusting and folding into high mountain peaks such as [[Mount Kersivius]] and the Hvítur Fjall. Mount Kersivius spans the Staynish-CaltharusianAxdelian border, and at 7,405 m (or 24,294 ft) is the highest mountain in the Zycannes. The mountain range contains one hundred and forty nine peaks higher than 6,000 metres (just over 19,685 feet).
The altitude and size of the range affects the climate in Aurora; without the mountain range, the entire of would be desert.
