The Western Provinces (Vistarian: Westelijke Provincies, Suvan: Baruun Aimguud, Slijk: Wesenlik Provencies, also known as the UWP, was a Western Yasterian country between 1971 and 2022, formed from a union of the regions of Autern, Grenstroom, StillewaterLijnveld and parts of Northern Edalavia. Officially the United Free Provinces of Western Suvania, it was first described as an Ademarist state, however attained a more multicultural identity centred around liberal democracy in contrast to the authoritarian regimes in Upper and Lower Suvania. Following the Second Suvani War in 1984, the Western Provinces was bordered by Upper Suvania in the East, Vistaraland to the West and Lower Suvania to the south in the divided region of Adelisia.

Following the continued economic strife and instability that persisted in Suvania throughout the 20th Century saw the fracturing of the country along political lines, increase the prominence of the remerging secessionist movements in its western regions, which had historically been a part of the Vistari Empire before the 12 Years' War, maintaining significant cultural and religious separation from the power centres in the East. Following the secession of Autern during the First Suvani War and the creation of an Ademarist Republic, religious agitation in the western regions of now Lower Suvania increased throughout the 1950s and 60s, seeking to replicate the revolution in Autern, which only worsened following the unpopular Second Suvani War.
