Prior to 1973, the Volkian Federal Police's duties were split across several agencies. Following the passage of the Volkian Federal Police Act of 1972, the agency was originally intended to be used as a protective force, transportation police, border security, drug interdiction, and combating public corruption. Public corruption in particular was a hot button issue with Volkians following the impeachment of former [[President of Volkia|president]] [[Matvei Lukyanov]]. The agency was involved in the arrest of the former president and maintained custody of him until his conviction, at which point he was turned over to federal prison authorities. |
