Unique among international organizations of the Urth, it is considered a ''sui generis'' institution eschewing the boundaries of an alliance and a supranational government. Following an investigation by the [[Auroran Security Agency]], it was discovered that the bomb had been created using material from the 2017 Nuremkastel nuclear meltdown during the Auroran-Pacific War. A UNAC military taskforce, with the approval of the Kostoro-Obertonian government, entered Kostoro-Obertonian territory with a view to finding and destroying the SAF. The Kostoro-Obertonian Nationalist Party subsequently overthrew then-President of Kostoria-Obertonia Karl Strasser. This prompted a full invasion of that country led by Faethalria, whereby the Nationalists were overthrown, the SAF was captured and disbanded, and a provisional government was established. Following a referendum, Kostoria-Obertonia was annexed by Faethalria.
