The Unitary Progressive Party or UPP is a neoliberal and populist political party in Syrtænzna that has as either the ruling party or the largest Opposition party in the country since the considerable decrease in support for the Civic People's Party in 2009 following the Microwave Affair. The party has successfully maintained a plurality in the unicameral legislature of Syrtænzna - the Tsyrel'se since 2009, apart from the small period between 2018 and 2019 where Syrtæn'at Solidarity held two more seats than it.

From March 18th, 2019, the Tsyrel'se Leader of the UPP - Irma-Sigrid Lyn'doþ - is the Speaker - Head of Government of Syrtænzna - ruling under a broad coalition of parties, consisting of members of the Justice & Unity Group, as well as the Liberal Renewal Party and the Party for Fraternity. The Coalition currently stands as a majority government, holding 128 of the 252 seats, with 53 of those belonging to the UPP.

The UPP was formed in 1955 in opposition to the policies of Erik Tyrstin and his Civic People's Party (CPP), when the formerly centre-right Unitarian Movement and Members opposed to Tyrstin within the centrist Progressive Party formed a United Opposition against the CPP, overshadowing the rump faction of the Progressive Party as the largest force to the left of Tyrstin's Party. However, they often failed to make Government during the 50s and early 60s due both to their ardent refusal to work alongside the CPP as well as the popularity of Tyrstin and his political allies due both to his Pro-Equality Constitution as well as his victory over Blaskog in the Syrtæn'at-Blaskovian War in 1964.

Following a shift away from Direct Opposition to the Constitution of 1954 after the 60s, the party grew to be more prominent, acting as a third choice between the CPP and the growing Popular Democratic Union - later overshadowed by Syrtæn'at Solidarity. In this position, the party began to be seen as less to the left and more of a force on the Centre, spending a considerable amount of time in Government due to their ability to work alongside both the PDU and, following their less contrarian stance towards them, the CPP.

In 1999, the UPP formed the Justice and Unity electoral group, alongside the Popular Alternative (Successor of the PDU) and Civic People's Party, in order to oppose both the new leftist force under Syrtæn'at Solidarity and the existential threat of Separatist parties such as the Silent Majority and NH. They would later be joined by the Asatru Movement in 2004, with the CPP being kicked out for two years between 2009 and 2011 over the Microwave Affair.
