After successfully reuniting the Fortunan Archipelago in 1999, the party has continued to rule Fortuna under [[Tristano Lyone]] to present day.
Prior to the Unitary Nationalist Party, the first political party with a similar ideology was the Fortuna Reunited Party, first being established in 1936. Following the party's dissolution in the 1960s, former members and supporters reorganized following the end of the Toscanan-Emilian War and the creation of the Fortunan Confederation to establish the Unitary Nationalist Party on August 6, 1980.
