Šano Šonai Tuvria is the current Secretary-General of the International Forum, elected on February 18th, 2021. Prior to serving as Secretary-General, Tuvria was the Prime Minister of Tavaris from 2017-2021. He is considered to be the primary architect and diplomatic force behind the Alliance of Northwest Gondwana, whose negotiations he initiated in 2018. He also oversaw a normalization of relations with Bana and brought them into the ANG in 2020. |
As Prime Ministere of Tavaris, Tuvria also negotiated an agreement with Vistaraland for the purchase of nuclear warheads and to jointly develop new weapon designs in the future. This was in addition to the nascent Tavari nuclear program, begun in 2012, which he revealed to the public along with the Vistari agreement in 2021. The agreement was highly polarizing across the Tavari political spectrum, and led to the failure of his governing coalition and snap elections in February 2021. While his party won with a vastly increased number of seats, allowing it to attain a majority alone, Tuvria announced 8 days after his re-election that he would be resigning from Parliament and accepting the job of Secretary-General of the International Forum. He was succeeded by his Deputy Prime Minister, the politically popular Žarís Nevran Alandar. |
As Tavari Foreign Minister, he negotiated a defense agreement with Asendavia in 2009, in response to Acronis joining the Union of Commonwealth Alliances. In his time both as Foreign Minister and Premier, Tuvria has emphasized the importance of the strategic alliance with Asendavia as a counterweight to growing Acronian diplomatic power, and has also advocated for stronger trade relationships with Asendavia as well. Tuvria has generally been a popular politician, though his political standing is seen to have taken a hit due to the perceived Acronian "betrayal" of the nascent detente with the announcement of their nuclear program. |
Tuvria served as an Assembly Member for the constituency of Ratani-Southern Šonai since its creation in 1994 until his election as Secretary-General. Ratani, a city in central Tavaris, is Tuvria's hometown and place of birth. |
