The military of Serramal consists of three branches - The Republican Army, Airforce, and Navy respectively. The military has some 17,500 active personnel, though many units are thought to be largely ineffective for anything other than basic garrison purposes. Of the Army, only three Motorized Rifle Battalions and the Presidential Guard, numbering a combined 3,800 personnel, are thought to be capable of mounting serious operations. The Airforce and Navy are both heavily reliant on external contractors for their maintenance and operations, and the military as a whole has historically made extensive use of foreign mercenaries.
