The company gained the honorary descriptor "''erenar''" (Tavari for ''royal'') from a proclamation by Queen Melora II in 1642 that granted the company a [[wikipedia:monopoly|monopoly]] on importing coffee to Rodoka. The monopoly, originally granted for 99 years, was renewed in 1741. In 1840, however, the advent of constitutional monarchy in Tavaris meant the monarch no longer had the power to declare such business arrangements, and the monopoly expired (though the company was permitted to continue using the royal descriptor.)
