The Rége Julían class frigates are four warships of the Royal Antoran Armada built in Antora as part of the Proyécto de Equipamíento Navál Interoperáble (Interoperable Naval Equipment Project). The first entered service in 1976, with the other three being commissioned throughout the late 70's. The fourth ship, Rége Juando,, was laid up in 1989 due to a catastrophic power plant failure and budget cuts have left the ship in permanent reserve since. The three operating ships currently form the guided-missile backbone of the Armada together with the Rége Arturo class destroyers. The tonnage of the class has led various groups to classify them as heavy frigates or destroyers, though according to Antoran doctrine they are frigates, due to their inability to operate independently of a battlegroup for extended periods of time.

The Royal Antoran Armada initially requested the Rége Julían class as command & control ships to head each squadron of the 1st Attack Fleet, using their extensive communications and tactical suites to coordinate the other Interoperable Project ships: Princesa Alandra class fast attack craft and Princesa Gloria class corvettes. Shifts in naval doctrine and delays and defects in the Princesa Gloria classes construction meant the intended role for the Rége Julían class would never be fulfilled. The ships were instead refitted to carry vertically-launched missile systems to take advantage of their computing power. Today, the Rége JulíanJulíanss are often deployed to escort Antoran shipping through Novaran waters. The ARC Rége Diego Erik serves as the flagship of the 4th Squadron based at Porto Frederico.
