▲The first entered service in 1976, with the other three being commissioned throughout the late 70's. The fourth ship, ''Rége Juando'', was laid up in 1989 due to a catastrophic power plant failure and budget cuts have left the ship in permanent reserve since. The three operating ships currently form the guided-missile backbone of the Armada together with the ''Rége Arturo'' class destroyers. The tonnage of the class has led various groups to classify them as heavy frigates or destroyers, though according to Antoran doctrine they are frigates, due to their inability to operate independently of a battlegroup for extended periods of time.
The class was retired in 2022 following the construction of the [[Catrás class|''Catrás'' class]] and [[Sierra class|''Sierra'' class]]. All four frigates have been laid up at the Porto Mañuel Reserve Yards to form an operational reserve in case of emergency.
