The '''Provisional Government''' (abbreviated to the '''PG''', commonly known as the '''Government of the Wealdenite Republic''', '''Wealdenite Provisional Government''' or '''WR Goverment''') is the central executive authority of the [[Wealden|Wealdenite Republic]]. The government is led by the [[Prime Minister of Wealden|prime minister]] (currently Cathryn Gargano, since 15 May 2023) who selects all the other ministers. The government was formed after the [[2023 Cappedorite coup d'état]], which saw the previous government of [[Cappedore]] replaced.
Ministers of the Republic are responsible to the [[Provisional Congress of Wealden|Provisional Congress]]; they make statements there and take questions from its members. The government is dependent on congress to make primary legislation, and the government is fairly new and is intended, as stated by Gargano, to only be a temporary measure while the congress works on drafting and processing a new [[Concordat of the Wealdenite Republic|concordat]]. The provisional government is said to only be a "temporary measure", with plans to complete the apparatus for a new Wealdenite government to be complete by June 2023.
The government is sometimes referred to as '[[The Oracle]]', for that is where its primary operations take place in the capital city of [[Absolution]].

The provisional government was formed on May 15th, 2023, after a mass walk out of CSDP MGs triggered the coup a day prior. Gargano's provisional concordat offered a "fresh start" for the people of the union.
