Since 2014, the CDPC has been ruled by [[Enzo I|King Enzo I]] of [[House of Fiorentini|Fiorentini]]. Petra Cauda is an {{wp|absolute monarchy|absolute monarchist}} nation in a state of racial {{wp|apartheid}}. The ruling minority race are the [[Sal]] (Salis), oppressing the [[Pepe]] (Pepilis) under sovereign-enforced legislation. This racial segregation has been in place since the mid-16th century and has widely been accepted as a legitimate social class system, however over the past few decades there has been rising pressure from various Pepili civil-rights groups.

 

 

Formed in 1441, from a collection of independent monarchist island nations, the Crown Dominion of Petra Cauda was initially ruled by {{wp|Imperator}} [[Domizio I]]. Domizio succeeded to the throne from position as High-Cardinal of the [[Holy Deus Church]], the predominant religion of the incorporated nations. From this, the {{wp|Divine right of kings|divine right}} of the Petrovian monarchy is legitimised.
