Fortun was born in Tømmer, [[Nystatiszna]] and spent his early years there. Later on, his family moved to Newport, where his father worked in a administration. He graduated from the private school and then later from the Newport University with a degree in political science. He worked part time as a janitor at the university then later working as a campus security.
