Although owned by the [[Politics of the Oan Isles|Government of the Oan Isles]] via Serene Properties Ltd., the [[Palace of Putangitangi]] is the seat of the Sovereign and by extension the seat of the Royal Family. The Emperor's Household and parents have their living expenses fully covered by a State Stipend and other Princes and Princesses receive a salary from the state. The rest of the members of the House of Ahua receive no state financial support. Members of the Royal Family are not allowed to work without the permission of the Council of Ministers. The Emperor, Serene Consort and the Crown Prince are forbidden to work.
 
All members of the Royal Family require the permission of the Emperor to get married. The Emperor and Crown Prince require the permission of the Council of Ministers to get married. Princes and Princesses can pass on their titles to their legitimate children as long as they meet stipulated criteria. With the permission of the Emperor, illegitimate children can be bestowed a Princely title. Prince Takaro, brother to [[Oahoanu]] was bestowed a title however General [[Oahuoa Uye]] did not receive a Princely title because he was adopted by his mother's fatherhusband, Lord Uye.
