OriginallyPreviously represented under the Salovian [[Boliari]] but now without a form of government, the people of southern Salovia allowed the Diarchy to became the ''de facto'' (and later ''de jure'' under the [[Nelic Declaration of 999]]) ruling authority upon the collapse of the Salovian monarchy in 992, following the death of King Lerin XVII. The Nelic States were eventually re-absorbed into the Salovian Monarchy under the [[Salovia#Grand Reconquest|Grand Reconquest]] in 1036.
