'''Michael Frederick Ramsay''' (11 April 1954 - 3 July 2007), often known as '''Michael F. Ramsay''' or nicknamed "'''MFR'''" was a Cappedorite politician, statesman, and economist who served as the 24th President of Cappedore from 1999 until his assassination in 2007. He is often regarded as a heavily controversial figure in past and modern Cappedorite politics, being heavily popular among the populace and bringing great attention to the CSDP by the turn of the millenium. He was a strong opposer of the Fort Clement War in the 1990s, and backed strong pro-nationalisation efforts in Cappedore after they were not included in the 1990 Great Reform Act.
In 2007, after a visit to a children's hospital in Shinrarta backing local cancer and health / welfare charities, Ramsay's carpool was shot at and had one front wheel blown, causing the vehicle to spin out of control after entering a tunnel. Ramsay, his personal advisor, and the attorney general Herbert Beech were killed in the crash. The assassination sparked public outrage, especially after heavy publicisation and ostracisation by the media, and the lessened efforts of the CBI to solve the matter. The mystery of Ramsay's assassination remains unsolved to this day.
On top of having been president, Ramsay was also a devoted campaigner for the social democratic party, heavily campaigning for the party in his youth having joined the party at the age of 16. In 1980, Ramsay was elected to the Federal Council in West Umbria, where he was working as an economist at a local banking firm. He wrote multiple books, including ''The Profits of the Damned (1979)'' and ''The Social Prospects of Left-Wing Economics (1981)'' and became a spokesperson for socialism in Cappedore. His ideals are still very prominent in modern Cappedorite politics, with current president Austin Merrill being one of Ramsay's biggest supporters.
