He has previously served as the Chief Minister of Konoa and as the leader of the Konoan People's Party. == Early life == Maui Uye-Ahua iswas born to Mrs Akatea Uye-Ahua and Mr Karuhi Uye-Ahua in 1970. He originates from Harmony City (''Noapa'') in Konoa. He attended an independent all-boys school. He excelled in his academic studies especially in subjects such as languages and the arts. He played in his school's cricket team and represented his school at national level. When he graduated from his school, he received a sports scholarship to study an undergraduate degree in law and economics. He was politically active and he was a strong proponent of Konoan autonomy.
