Maui Uye-Ahua is born to Mrs Akatea Uye-Ahua and Mr Karuhi Uye-Ahua in 1970. He originates from Harmony City (''Noapa'') in Konoa. He attended an independent all-boys school. He excelled in his academic studies especially in subjects such as languages and the arts. He played in his school's cricket team and represented his school at national level.
