For a majority of this period, since 2012, the party has been headed by former businessman, and current head of the Terwener General Council, Indri Weijers. Though having presided over a long period of political success for the party, Weijers' leadership has been recently challenged due to decreased electoral performance by the party in recent years, failing to gain an outright majority in the 2019 election. In the General Council, the party holds 7 of the 17 seats, forming a minority government through a confidence and supply agreement with the National Farmer's Party.
