The general staff who are permitted in the court are generally female staff. This includes security, governesses, cooks, handmaidens, tutors, etc. They are employed by the Imperial Household Agency.
Some of the prominent staff are as follows:
* Chief Tutor is in charge of the education of all the children and oversees all the Tutors. She is responsible for registering them for examinations, organising and delivering their curriculum.
* Keeper of the Sultana's Pictures is responsible for overseeing the artworks of the Inner Court.
* Chief Administrator is in charge of the general running of the Inner Court and all staff report to her.
* Chief Gardener is responsible for overseeing grounds, gardens and landscaping.
* Chief Custodian is in charge of all the furniture and other miscellanea movable wares through the Inner Court.
* Head Chef is in charge of the preparation of food, ingredients to be used etc.
* Keeper of the Sultana's Stables is in charge of all of the horses used in the Harem
* Keeper of the Sultana's Menagerie is in charge of all exotic animals and of the menageries.
