The Administrator is the chief officer of the GSRI. They help formulate and administer policies and oversee day to day running of the GSRI. The Administrator is voted on by the GSRI council, and any nation can propose one person to be the administrator. The current Administrator of the GSRI is Piran Enker, from Auravas.

The Vaccine Research program is administered by the Department of Microbiology and Epidemiology, and is focused on developing vaccines for diseases, improving current vaccines, and increasing access to vaccines.
