For millennia, Ethalria, under the rule of Kings, dominated the [[Aurora|Auroran]] continent alongside [[Kostuvastan]], until 1150 where tensions in the [[Nation/Xagrurg|Xagrurg]] province rose to new heights. This rebellion led to the eventual border change from completely dominating the northern [[Category:Morstaybishlia|Morstaybishlian]] region to having almost no influence 200 years later. If a rebellion had never formed, Ethalria would have likely been the worlds largest colonial superpower today. In 1153, the ruling King was executed in favour for a ruling Queen, because of their tactical inferiority. Since 1153, except for one instance in 1493, Ethalria has remained in hereditary rule by a female, under the title Queen until 1700 until the title Matriarch was adopted. In 1975, the matriarchal monarchy became constitutional and the country has been henceforth run by a Matriarch with Presidential powers. The monarchy has almost zero power besides the "rights to encourage".

Ethalria sold Caltharusian land to Ethalrian farmers, evoking the likes of the [[Morstaybishlian Empire]] and [[Kostuvastan]], as well as a familiar enemy, [[Nation/Xagrurg|Xagrurg]].
==Destabilisation==
Under [[Amalda Harimann]], Ethalria went to war a second time with the [[Staynish-Caltharus Empire]] in 50 years. It was revealed the assassination of [[Prince Thadeus]] was organised by the Ethalrian Matriarch herself to provoke the destabilisation of the Empire. However, Thadeus was not a target. Instead the assassination was intended for the King, [[Lambertus VII]].
The Empire declared war on Ethalria on the 8th of June 2017, the conflict lasting for four and a half months. In that period, the Empire, with the help of a few allies, managed to completely destroy the Ethalrian defence, as a result of good fortune and excellent military prowess. After the fall of Rivendale on the 24th of October that year, Amalda Harimann was never found. Her War Cabinet was sentenced to life in prison without parole.
A short while after the war, the Ethalrian constitution had a complete overhaul, with changes in most areas. Four nations arose from the ashes of Ethalria.
