Under [[Amalda Harimann]], Ethalria went to war a second time with the [[Staynish-CaltharusGreat EmpireMorstaybishlia]] in 50 years. It was revealed the assassination of [[Prince Thadeus]] was organised by the Ethalrian Matriarch herself to provoke the destabilisation of the Empire. However, Thadeus was not a target. Instead the assassination was intended for the King, [[Lambertus VII]].
 
The Empire declared war on Ethalria on the 8th of June 2017, the conflict lasting for four and a half months. In that period, the Empire, with the help of a few allies, managed to completely destroy the Ethalrian defence, as a result of good fortune and excellent military prowess. After the fall of Rivendale on the 24th of October that year, Amalda Harimann was never found. Her War Cabinet was sentenced to life in prison without parole.
