The Matriarchy of Ethalria succeeded the [[Ethalria (Grand Matriarchy)|Grand Matriarchy of Ethalria]] in 1975 following the end of the [[Auroran Imperial War]] and during an era of great economic recession in Aurora.

==Destabilisation==
Under [[Amalda Harimann]], Ethalria went to war a second time with [[Great Morstaybishlia]] in 50 years. It was revealed the assassination of [[Prince Thadeus]] was organised by the Ethalrian Matriarch herself to provoke the destabilisation of the Empire. However, Thadeus was not a target. Instead the assassination was intended for the King, [[Lambertus VII]].
The Empire declared war on Ethalria on the 8th of June 2017, the conflict lasting for four and a half months. In that period, the Empire, with the help of a few allies, managed to completely destroy the Ethalrian defence, as a result of good fortune and excellent military prowess. After the fall of Ribenstadt on the 24th of October that year, Amalda Harimann was never found. Her War Cabinet was sentenced to life in prison without parole.
A short while after the war, the Ethalrian constitution had a complete overhaul, with changes in most areas. Four nations arose from the ashes of Ethalria, those nations being [[Vothetria]], [[Faethalria]], [[Thalria]], and [[Kothalria]].

▲Ethalria is a Matriarchy and all government positions are held for women only. The military of Ethalria, which has 325,505 servicewomen and men, comprises of 97.4% women. However, this does not stop men from getting jobs. Men have a 89% employment rate whilst women boast a 98.2% employment rate.
