In 2014, Ethalria had a population of ~~97.4~~{{emdash}} million and a GDP per capita of ~~♅24,703~~{{emdash}}. The Matriarchy of Ethalria succeeded the [[Ethalria (Grand Matriarchy)\|Grand Matriarchy of Ethalria]] in 1975 following the end of the [[Auroran Imperial War]] and during an era of great economic recession in Aurora. It was revealed the assassination of [[Prince Thadeus]] was organised by the Ethalrian Matriarch herself to provoke the destabilisation of the Empire. However, Thadeus was not a target. Instead the assassination was intended for the King, [[Lambertus VII]]. The Empire declared war on Ethalria on the 8th of June 2017, the conflict lasting for four and a half months. In that period, the Empire, with the help of a few allies, managed to completely destroy the Ethalrian defence, as a result of good fortune and excellent military prowess. After the fall of ~~Rivendale~~Ribenstadt on the 24th of October that year, Amalda Harimann was never found. Her War Cabinet was sentenced to life in prison without parole. A short while after the war, the Ethalrian constitution had a complete overhaul, with changes in most areas. Four nations arose from the ashes of Ethalria, those nations being [[Vothetria]], [[Faethalria]], [[Thalria]], and [[Kothalria]].
