The Free Land of Emberwood Coast, better known as Emberwood Coast (ˈem:bər:wo͝od kōst), is a nation that exists on the northeastern coast of the Auroran Continent, that has land borders with Axdel to the east and Quartz Fern Coast to the south. Its capitol (and largest city) is Aura, which is home to almost 43 million people. The country is highly technologically advanced, featuring a robust research sector as well as a relatively advanced Space Administration. The large lake in the southwest, Mapleleaf Lake, is home to a vast array of temperate wildlife. Most of the nation is cooler due to the nation's low latitude, and oceanic currents often develop multi-day long rainstorms over the capitol, Aura. Aura is home to the headquarters of the United Nations of the Auroran Continent.

Modern day Emberwood Coast was originally settled by a mix of small uspalrian and Human villages in the early 7000s BCE. As civilization of the continent progressed, marginalized groups and exiles coalesced into a loose alliance by the second century BCE. In 122 CE, after refocusing their armies Kormistazic forces took Aurelia, the largest of several communities in the area. Later, however, collapse of Kormistazm and eruption of Mount Koriba in 512CE allowed the region to develop independently once more, now with significantly more advanced technology from under Kormistazic rule. The are remained independent until the early 900s, when the Second Kormastazic Empire reconquered the area and held it until 1575, when it was officially ceded to the Morstaybishlian Empire. Up to this point, it had primarily remained agrarian, sending food east towards Kormastazm but remaining otherwise underdeveloped. Morst rule brought modernized cities and greatly expanded maritime infrastructure, leading to rapid technological and cultural growth, as well as the development of a regional identity. A brief anarchist revolt just before and during the outbreak of war in 1904 initially seemed fruitless, but laid the groundwork for the eventual formation of Emberwood Coast after a broader leftist coalition fought for and won independence from Morst rule in 1970.

Emberwood Coast is governed by a mix of volunteer and elected council officials, with a devolutionary model leaving decisions to local and regional groups whenever possible.

Aura is Emberwood Coast's capital and largest city, with over 40,000,000 residents. Its 59-rally metropolitan area has been the nation's largest since its organization in 1970 and is the fastest-growing metropolitan area in Aura, with about 2 million residents. East Aura hosts not only the nation's two chip-fabrication factories, but also Aurora's largest superconductor plant. Southern Aura is a bustling cultural center, highlighted by the Gateway Arch and Southgate Mall. Central Aura is one of the densest urban areas on Urth, featuring the historic Broken Light walk and the Twin Arcologies. Portside is home to over 8.5 million people and features the majority of Emberwood's maritime establishments. While Aura contains more coastline, the capital has stricter regulations on industrial seaside development. Therefore, Portside has more ports, harbors, and drydocks, and hosts most international trade for Emberwood. Food exports from Portside include staple crops like wheat and corn from Myriad, and orchard products from the city of Kaleidoscope. Rockport is the military headquarters of the Coast. It contains the Rockport Naval Headquarters, as well as North Coast International Airport. Additionally, the city is just west of the border with Axdel, making it a center for overland trade, with several warehouses, depots, and rail stations. Nearly a half dozen high-speed rail stations connect Rockport to the Axdelian Border.
