Presidential
Presidential elections always take place between the dates of 16 - 21 November, on a fixed term of every 5 years since 1814. Snap elections for the presidential position cannot be called. The elected candidate takes office on Presidential Day (17 December).

Gemotern (general legislative)
Legislative / general elections are fixed to always take place every 5 years, however snap-elections that take place before the original scheduled date may be arranged. The Gemotern was established after the Great Reform Act 1990.
