Háadat wrote the screenplay based on events that occurred in his childhood mixed with local folklore and stories. With a budget of $10.98 million SHD, production of ''Crow Thunder'' began in 2009. Otah Payta, the scorer of the film and friend of Háadat, was the one who originally convinced Háadat to pitch his idea to <abbr>Rouge Lumière Productions. On 2011, a version of the film in Kuduk (Háaka) was released alongside a version with Frakanic subtitles.
