CAP-80: Difference between revisions

The CAP-80 Lômeqkhyaa (''lit: messanger/couriercavalryman'') is an [[Axdel|Axdelian]] license-produced version of the CAP-80-V4 built from 2007 onwards to replace its previous CAP-80 stock procured in the 1980's. There is still a great deal of parts commonality, and thus many components are still produced in Volscina, although the vehicles themselves are assembled and maintained in Axdel by [[Sentinel-ARMS]]. Major modifications to the design include a locally sourced 120mm smoothbore produced by National Ballistic Systems, an overhauled communication suite and electronics equipment, and ergonomic improvements to the interior. The armour in the turret and frontal glacis has also been replaced with 'Bex-1', a domestically produced composite armour of a classified composition which amongst other differences reportedly contains a matrix of depleted uranium alloy inserts instead of tungsten alloy.
