Due to the dangerously low population, population recovery was a primary concern for the nation during its early yearts. The efforts of the nation, which was a combination of selective immigration (primarily other fascist-style nations like [[Fortuna]]) and reproduction, managed to bringbrought the population up to 4,757,153 people in 2015. As such, a single generation currently makes up 94.1% of the population, all 18 years or younger, most of which have been enrolled by their parents in a program called the [[Youth Scouts of Baykalia]]. The minor-to-adult ratio is currently an astonishing 11 to 1. This ratio resulted in the vast majority of the nation to regress back to an agrarian economy. However, the richest provinces of the nation still maintain a standard of living comparable to cities such as Novosibirsk and Nocturne. Due to this extreme income inequality, the Baykalian unemployment rate is technically 95%, and most of the population has begun to participate in homesteading.
