Born in Sychi, [[Shipayetsk Oblast]], she moved with her family to Koshki, [[Osinsky Oblast]] when she was 10 years old. Kuznetsova spent much of her time reading and learning about the world, going on to complete a bachelor's degree in education at Osinsky Federal University in 1979.
