The Anana Tribe, commonly referred to as the Anana, is a semi-sovereign tribe in the western coast region of Kuduk. It is one of 36 tribes within the Tribal Federation of Kuduk. The Anana are ruled by a representative tribal council. It is bordered by the Yevak Tribe to the east. The largest and most economically important city within the tribe is Ayanka, which historically was an important city for foreign trade.
The Anana Tribe was officially founded in 745 CE, but the Ananic peoples had existed within the western portion of Kuduk since the classical era. The Anana people initially settled near the northeastern section of the modern day Anana Tribe. Similarly to the Yevaks, the early Ananic peoples expanded their influence through political marriages using a matrilineal structure to govern themselves. Eventually, this tribe’s influence would grow very large, encompassing a majority of the lands within the modern day Anana, Yevak, and Hey Tribes. Politically, this expansive Ananic empire, referred to as the Proto-Anana Tribe by historians, was comprised more similarly to a federation rather than a singular coherent tribe. Eventually, in 745 CE, the Proto-Anana Tribe collapsed, politically splitting the Ananic peoples into completely separate tribes. Following the collapse, the Anana Tribe came under the rule of the war-chief Nakiláan the Conquerer. With Nakiláan at its helm, the early Anana Tribe fought many political and legal battles against the newly founded Yevak Tribe in an attempt to slow down the growth of the Yevaks and to regain some of the lost land from the collapse of the Proto-Anana. Historically, the Anana Tribe traded a lot with the Hey Tribe and Älemsi Negdel, which gave them an edge against the Yevak Tribe.
