The Senate is presided over by the Lord/Lady Governor of the Senate. The current Lady Governor is [[Claire Bennet]]. Her tenure has been hallmarked by the start of the democratic General Assembly, the Liberal-Democrat controversy, the arrest of Matthias Barbet, and the first placeholder government. Also during her tenure, she formally established the position as the leader of the Senate, and not just a figurehead of the Senate.
