In 1965, Udo married Princess Halueth Ianjeon, and together they had one child in 1866; Princess Hatharal. However, their daughter passed away about two months after her birth. Udo and Halueth's marriage was annulled later that year, in August 1866, reportedly as a result of the loss of the child and the pairs' difficult marriage.
Udo suffered with coronary heart disease from his mid-30s up until his death. In April 1912, Udo suffered two heart attacks in one day, causing him to abdicate the throne to make way for his younger brother, Caelthar. He died of another heart attack three years later, on 24 October 1915, aged 78.
