5san is an anonymous multi-lingual imageboard website, launched by Karl "noot" Pole in late 2003. 5san hosts image boards, with topics ranging from politics and spprts to anime and manga, with the site's original purpose being to share and talk about Arnstal Anime, before spreading to a more general social media service. 5san has also been known as a notable hub of internet subculture, being assosiated with both memes and political activism - most notably with the far left. 5san has gained media attention as a source of controversies through pranks, harassment, attacks against other websites and Internet users and the posting of illegal content, threats of violence and intolerance of religion. Despite this, 5san was purchased from Mr Pole by Cluster.
