The Demirite dynasty was the family that ruled over Packilvania from 1675 to 1918. It was also known as the Demir dynasty. All minor and unmarried children, adult male members and adult female members married into the family via an adult male member were entitled to use the surname Demir.

The Demir dynasty previously ruled over the Kingdom of Fidakar whose former territory is coextensive with the Province of Fidakar which today is one of the administrative divisions of Packilvania. In 1675, Saidun the Conqueror, then the King of Fidakar, united princes and aristocrats who were deeply dissatisfied with the manner in which the Zubraynite dynasty was running the economic crises and natural disaster that had beset the country at the time. Further, then-King Saidun of Fidakar demanded that the Zubraynite High King hand over the Crown of Packilvania to him and his descendents in perpetuity.

The High King refused. This prompted a war between the Kingdom of Fidakar and the United Kingdom of Packilvania. With the United Kingdom of Packilvania also facing rebellions and sedition from the nobility of Packilvania and the military of Packilvania, the Zubraynite dynasty was deposed and replaced by the Demirite dynasty. As such, Saidun the Conqueror was crowned as the first Sultan of Packilvania and the Kingdom of Fidakar was annexed by the United Kingdom of Packilvania which was declared the Sultanate of Packilvania.

The House of Demir was an overwhelmingly Hominine family. They primarily spoke the Packilvanian language (especially the dialects spoken in the Kingdom of Fidakar prior to their take over of Packilvania). In addition the House of Demir officially practiced the religion of Paxism. The family practiced a version of Paxism known as Sohadekism which was an off-shoot of the branch known as Melkezedekism. Whereas Melkezedekism was established by Melkezedek the Great, Sohadekism was established (largely unintentionally) by Prophet Sohadek when he declared that he had a prophecy that a human would be the first Sultan of Packilvania.

Four of the Demirite dynasty's monarchs were women, all named Zerah Demir because they practiced male-preference primogeniture. The last ruler of the Demirite dynasty was Sultana Zerah Demir IV. Unlike previous female monarchs who married a Prince of the Demir dynasty to ensure that the House of Demir remained the Royal House of Packilvania, Zerah Demir IV married a foreign King: King of Great Morstaybishlia Thadeus I.

She converted to Thaerism and the Sultana (and her successors) were stripped of the power to appoint the Supreme Magister and to act as the temporal head of the Magisterium of Paxism by the Parliament of Packilvania to enable both herself and her son Thadeus II to retain the Sultanic titles and powers without being adherents of Paxism. Furthermore, she also led Packilvania into the Great War which exacerbated inequality and brought increased material hardship on the population especially the Feline population.

This gave rise to the formation of a rebellion against her and the Demirite dynasty led by the Packilvanian Communist Party under Gideon Muktan. At the end of 1918, the Demirite dynasty was deposed as the Packilvanian Royal family and the Sultanate of Packilvania was disestablsihed and the People's Republic of Packilvania was proclaimed. The Sultana fled to Great Morstaybishlia and lived out the rest of her natural life in that country. Many of the Demir members fled to foreign countries or gave up their titles, privileges and properties. The most senior and defiant were executed or imprisoned.
