Witcain is a Valkyr-Norgsveltian mechanical watch designer and manufacturer based in Gavekort, Vakrestrender. Founded in 1867 by a Norgsveltian trader Jim Reitan and a Valkyr Importer Ali Thune after running timing issues for shipments. Originally named Reitan and Thune, the company renamed itself to be Witcain in 1892, after the success of its first pocket watch series by the same name. The company registered the word Witcain as its brand name for its first series of watches, which after the success of the first series and the failures of the other two series they took as the companies official name. During the Great War, the Norgsveltian entry into it caused Witcain to temporary cease operations for its traditional luxury watches in favor of a cheaper made series for the military. Despite having shortages of materials, Witcain was still able to scavenge enough materials to keep themselves in line with Norgsveltian minimum demands for pocket watches and stopwatches during the Great War to be prevent the company from being shut down and the workers drafted into the conflict. After the Great War, Witcain returned to its roots as a luxury brand of watches marketed towards bankers and captains of ships. Though during Vakrestrender rebuilding period in 1930s, Witcain was patronized by the Jarl of Vakrestrender and greatly expanded its branding towards more higher-end users.
