Plexis is a multinational publicly-traded financial services and technology company that originates from South Hills. It was founded in 1966 by a cooperative of Concordian banks. Its purpose is to facilitate payments between banks of vendors and customers through PlexisCard-branded debit and credit cards.

The PlexisCard is a small plastic sheet with a chip that contains information about the holder's account such as the balance and credit limit. Cards can also have a magnetic strip that can be read by card machines and automated teller machines. These cards are issued by banks to their clients. The PlexisCard also contains a card number, owner name and the card security code which is located on the back. In some cases, the user is asked to sign the back of the card as an acknowledgement of its legal authenticity and their ownership thereof. There are contactless PlexisCard with which the user can make payments by hovering or tapping the card above a card machine. In most cases payments and ATM services require a pin code from the Cardholder. PlexisCards can be loaded on mobile payment solutions such as Debby. Transactions by member banks of the International Banking Exchange Cooperative can be done via PlexisCards almost instantly.
