Nek-Os is a Ymir brand of breakfast cereal that is produced by the Eyjarian company Ulve Senteret and targeted many towards children. It was invented by a college students Sylvi Hee and Kasper Baardsen in 1965 and bought by the Ulve Senteret company in 1966 after the initial success. The product is described by advertisers as a "crunchy, sweetened multi-grain cereal with a unique blend of chocolate and vanilla flavor." Neko-Os is one of the top five cereal brands marketed within stores and is the most heavily marketed by the Ulve Senteret both online and in physical advertisements.
Originally, Nek-Os were only in white and black colors, until in 1983 where the company added marshmallows in shape of varies cats into the cereal.
