The Defence Forces of the Mirhaimian Realm (Trinter: ᛚᚢᚷᚨ ᚠᛟᚾᛏᚢ ᛗᛁᚱᚺᚨᛁᛗᛖ×ᛊᚨ. Ansa: Luga Fontu Mirhaime'sa), commonly known as the Mirhaimian Realm Defence Forces, or simply Realm Defence, are the combined military forces of the Mirhaime Federation. Realm Defence consists of four service branches: Realm Guard; Realm Air Force; Realm Armada; and the Coast Guard. The Paragon of the Mirhaime Federation is the commander-in-chief of the armed forces and forms military policy with the Department of Defense (DoD) and Department of Realm Security (DoRS), both federal executive departments, acting as the principal organs by which military policy is carried out. All components of the Realm Defence Forces are federal uniformed services.

The Realm Defence Forces are descended from the Trinterian Commonwealth's Banner Army and Armada, both of which were raised following the Trinterian Commonwealth's establishment in 1 AU. Following the devastating Anarchy of the Realm, the Banner Army and Armada devolved into infighting, with its ranks and files disintegrating into chaos. The vast majority of units came to swear allegiance to their own native Ga, but loyalist remnants such as the Realm Inquisition, based off of Castle Idak in the Ga of Laethan, retreated into isolationism before being peacefully merged into either the Trinterian Confederate Army or its successor, the Mirhaimian Realm Defence Forces, following the Realm's unification. Because of the sheer number of military traditions and practices passed down from the Commonwealth's Banner Army and Armada, the modern Realm Defence Forces declares itself to be the only true successor to "the legacy of the glorious Banner Army and Armada".

From their inception in the fiery fields of war of the Second War of Unification, the Realm Defence Forces have played a decisive role in modern Mirhaimian history. They helped forge a national identity, and a militant culture from their constant victories against enemies both within, and without in the Trinter-Nakian War (1625-1628), contributing to the unification of the Realm in 1650.
