The Marish or Marish people (Marish: Ավազի մարդիկ, Avazi mardik; Ethalrian: Marisch) are a Caltharusian native ethnic group originating in the Marislian region, and who make up the smallest native ethnic group in Marislia, Caltharus and Great Morstaybishlia as a whole. They speak the Marish language.

The Marish people were the second largest native ethnic group in the Marislian region in the 1910s, behind Ethalrian people with over 3 million people. At the conclusion of the Ethalro-Marislian War in 1920, the Marish people were subject to systematic mass murder, ethnic cleansing and expulsion at the expense of the Grand Matriarchy of Ethalria during the Marislian genocide, which wiped out over 91 percent of the Marish population. Until the conclusion of the Auroran Imperial War and subsequent collapse of the Grand Matriarchy in 1975, the Marish suffered extensively, being the subject to population control methods such as chemical castration, sterilisation, state mandated child abduction and cultural assimilation.

Today, the Marish people enjoy freedom from oppression. Since the 1970s, their population has increased from 329,000 individuals to just over 800,000.
