Slamgates are a technology used as a method for FTL travel. They often appear in the form of a large triangular frame.

Slamgates are believed to have been constructed by the Peregrins. Only a few slamgates are known to be in existence, and only three operational slamgates are known. One lies in the Tep system, one is located on the edges of Axdelian space, one is near the space of the TiBa Confederation.

A ship entering a slamgate will be sent into a FTL speed. The faster the ship enters, the faster the FTL speed. However, vessels that enter slamgates at superluminal speeds are never seen or heard from again, and are generally considered destroyed.
