Overview

The Reformed State of Lasówkrania, formerly Cascadii, is a country in southeastern Gondwana, in the Kaskada region, that was founded in 1267. Lasówkrania has a population of 20,083,672. The majority of the population are humans. The official language of Lasówkrania is Cascadiian. The official religion of Lasówkrania is Silvism. The capital and largest city of Lasówkrania is Douglasa, The douglas fir is native to Lasówkrania. Lasówkrania's sectors are Antrozia, Artrosna, Inpraza, Kichla, Obrezta, Republiki, and Unii Portów.

History

Early History

Founding

Before the formation of Cascadii in 1267, the region of Kaskada was occupied by city-states. Around 1260 the city-states started to annex eachother. They kept growing larger and larger until they were their own nations. Kaskada, Wodnyziemia, Klifstrona, and Mieszkaniezielony were the only ones left after years of fighting. Wodnyziemia started to gain more and more power. Eventually Kaskadii, Klifstrona, and Mieszkaniezielony signed a truce and all attacked Wodnyziemia at once. Even though Wodnyziemia was powerful, they were no match for these three nations combined. After all was said and done, these three nations remained. On May 23rd 1267, the leaders of the three nation came together to talk about the future of their nations. Together they decided to unite their three nations under one crown, the crown of Cascadii. They came up with the word Cascadii, the definition of the word is: The crown that unites the people. The flag of Cascadii uses the colors of each nation, the yellow is for Klifstrona, the teal is for Kaskada, and the blue is for Mieszkaniezielony. The tree on the flag is the douglas fir, the tree that covers the nation of Cascadii, which the leaders of the nations considered sacred. The place where they held this meeting is now known as Douglasa, the capital of Cascadii.

Golden Age

Cascadii started out as a council of three kings from each of the main three dynasties. These kings could veto each other and all had to agree or abstain in order for anything to pass. This made arguments very common in the council, and sometimes they got very heated. Multiple times in the history of this council one king killed another for not agreeing with his opinion. Beside the constant argument under this council the country saw it's golden years. The nation itself was very peaceful at this time, only making good relations with neighbors and keeping a small army. This abruptly came to an end in 1298 when one of the kings murdered the rest. With this the Cascadii Golden Age ended.

Dual-Monarchy

In 1298 after the council had been dissolved the daughter of the king married the heir to the Zemeprievadai throne. The princess ascended to the Cascadii throne in 1300. Shortly after in 1302 the monarch of Zemeprievadai died, and having no other children to take the throne other than the heir that married the now queen of Cascadii, when the heir to the Zemeprievadai throne rose to power it formed a personal union between Cascadii and Zemeprievadai. This new nation was called Cascadii-Zemeprievadai. This new nation had a lot of infighting, and then in 1621 the nation dissolved back into Cascadii and Zemeprievadai after decades of infighting.

Late History

Colonization

In 1635 Cascadii found new fertile land after exploring the Sea of Gondwana. They colonized this land, which they called Zachodnipaństwo meaning western state. Cascadii held onto this new land until 1842 when Tretrid forcibly took it from them. After this happened Cascadii got deterred from colonizing any more. They didn't want to lose land to any more major powers, so they stayed off of the world stage and started to mind their own thing.

Military Takeover

In 1908 in wake of the Great War the military overthrew the monarch. They said this was to protect the country from the war. After the war was over the military kept control over the nation. In 1920 the people got fed up with the rule by the military, and led a revolution. In 1921 the war was won by the people of Cascadii with them blowing up the capital building that the leader of the Junta lived in killing the leader. In the place of the Junta a republic was created.

Second Civil War

The Second Cascadyjski Civil War was started in 2021, when the government banned the monarchist party because of rising popularity. The government of Wodnyziemia rose up against the Cascadii government. The Cascadii government has much less troops than Wodnyziemia. Wodnyziemia was winning battle after battle, but when the troops realized that this government was the same as the old Cascadii government they rose up and formed the Reformed State of Lasówkrania. Lasówkrania had many more troops than both Cascadii and Wodnyziemia combined. Lasówkrania was easily able to win the war, but not without casualties. Nystatiszna, who was fighting on the side of Wodnyziemia destroyed the coastal area of the nation, making it uninhabitable to Lasówkrania citizens, this area was named the Great Dead Man's Zone.

Economy

The Lasówkranian Trhuil the official currency of Lasówkrania. Cascadia has a GDP of 803,346,880,000 USD and a GDP per capita of 40,000 USD. Lasówkrania's largest exports are lumber and seafood, and their largest imports are chocolate and bananas.

Government

Lasówkrania is a constitutional republic, with it's legislature being the senate. The leader of Lasówkrania is president Aleksy Niezgoda. Aleksy Niezgoda was elected in 2021 after the Second Cascadyjski Civil War. Lasówkrania supports democratic elections, and is a capitalist country. Each term in Lasówkrania is 8 years.

Geography

Lasówkrania has a fairly cold climate. Lasówkrania is heavily forested and is fairly mountainous. Lasówkrania has a large inland lake called Lake Kaskada. The largest river in Lasówkrania is the Błyszcząca River that spans from Lake Kaskada to the sea. The highest peak in Lasówkrania is Niebiański Peak. Lasówkrania has a fairly large sandy coastline. The largest national forest is the Lasówkrania National Forest spanning most of the nation.
